ABOUT
My name is Michelle Aladad Keene aka MAK. I am now married and go by Michelle Sorrentino. My nickname comes from Atlanta Georgia where I spent 18 years. I was born and raised in Skowhegan, Maine by a poor single mother from the Philippines.

I have been an artist since I was 4 years old. I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta Decatur for Graphic Design in 2011 but decided I wanted to draw and illustrate instead. My skill of braiding was noticed doing friends hair and I decided to make it my own business along with my art. After being mostly alone in Georgia, I decided to move back to Maine. I wanted to draw and do hair.
I started out as a single mother, and I would travel with my baby in a car seat to people homes. I also used to braid out of my apartment in my kitchen, and here I am finally with my own space upstairs in my house where I can finally do your hair in my barber chair. I have been braiding hair since 2012.

I am mixed and I have children that are mixed, and I can remember the struggle in Maine searching for places to do their hair. I love afro hair. Most of my friends have afro hair, and I am here to serve my community doing afro hair. I do enjoy braiding other types of hair as well.

I've also done a lot of art which was my talent growing up. My artwork posted all thru the cafeteria when i was in kindergarten. Kids and adults would ask me to draw for them and enjoyed my skill thru out my life. I mostly do sketches, paintings, caricatures, murals, and face painting. I am a mimic artist, and freestyle artist. I also do graphic design on the side. I make title slides for my local Church, and I design flyers, business cards, and certificates. I have also volunteered my skill for design for the L.C. Bates Museum in Hinckley retyping and updating old documents, retyping info on the animals that were in the glass, and hand drawing activity sheets for the kids. I have donated and designed flyers to 2 couples who were in need of a baby shower that attended the parent group at the KVCAP. I also did a square of a bald eagle on Senator Magret Chase Smith quilt in 4rth grade. I also donated 3 paintings to parents who lost their children due to cancer.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and I love using the talent that I have been blessed with! I am happy to serve you and thank you for your support.
